Golden Grahams Smores Clusters
Oct. 31st, 2009 10:06 amHoly fuck, these are good.
I just replaced the Rice Krispies in the traditional Rice Krispie Treat recipe with Golden Grahams and chocolate.
3 tablespoons melted butter
6 cups marshmallows (10 ounces by weight) (mini marshmallows melt faster)
5 cups Golden Grahams
1 cup chocolate chunks (62% cacao) (I prefer Ghirardelli chocolate chips)
Melt butter & marshmallows together over low heat. Mix in 5 cups Golden Grahams & 1 cup chocolate chunks. Stir. Spray your hands with Pam or coat them in butter, and form the mixture into little clumps about an inch or so across on a buttered cookie sheet or piece of wax paper. Allow to cool. Try not to eat them all before the Halloween party tonight. (The chocolate melted, which I wasn't expecting. I was shooting for chocolate chips. But it all worked out for the greater good.)Note: Forming the clusters can be challenging as the mixture is very sticky. Do the best you can, and after they cool a little bit you can form them into more ball-like shapes. The mixture gets less sticky as it cools.
Makes about 30 clusters approximately 1 inch in diameter.
