Pride Foods!
Jun. 15th, 2015 07:46 amI made a rainbow Jello mold and a Twix pride flag for my friend's annual rainbow party:

Spiked rainbow Jello mold:

I bought a silicone bundt pan to ensure easy release of the mold. The whole thing took about three hours to make, because you have to wait about 15 minutes for each layer to set, and there are 12 layers. I used Three Olives "Loopy" flavored vodka (tastes like Froot Loops). It set very firm, like Jello Jigglers. You could pick up slices of the Jello mold and eat them with your fingers. It was surprisingly tasty.
This recipe was the inspiration for the Twix pride flag:

I color-sorted a 14.8 ounce box of Twix, and for each color (which turned out to be about two cups worth of cereal per color) I melted 100 grams mini marshmallows and one tablespoon of butter, then stirred in the Twix. I sprayed the pan and my hands with Pam to prevent sticking.
If I make this again I will probably increase the amount of marshmallows to 150 grams, as the end result was very difficult to cut. We ended up pulling it apart with our hands. Here's a pic to show you how firm the flag was:

Since the purple Twix look more like brown, I stirred a little bit of purple food coloring in with that batch. I didn't have to use food coloring for the other stripes.
