Painting is done!

I did it! I have finished all the wall painting for now. Yay! I need to do a bit of vacuuming, and then we can move all the furniture back. I am so glad it is done!!!! I'll need to start patching the upstairs walls where the armoire will go next week.

More Calcium!

Well, we'll see how it goes tonight, but I increased the calcium again, because I was sooooo anxious. Hopefully, this will help.

Raised beds

I did it! I think I told you that I found places to buy the materials that we need for the raised beds. If I didn't tell you, then now you know. I looked on the local equivalent of Facebook Marketplace and sent out a request, but I got back an unhelpful answer. Well, that was okay, because I'd also found a website that sells the cobblestones, gravel, and dirt that we need for the project. And they give it to you in these giant bags that are used here for construction materials. It seems crazy to get a bag with 1000 kg of granite blocks, but there you go. Anyway, the order is in, so I just need to wait for them to contact us about delivery. Hopefully, it will all work out. I'm just so glad that it is done.

I've also done the first coat of paint on the wall behind Joel's couch. Because it is just a big wall with no fiddly bits, it went pretty quickly. I'm going to do a second coat on the part I can reach without a ladder tomorrow, and then we'll bring the ladder in after that, since that will mean that the whole wall won't be wet, which would make it necessary to avoid bumping.

Soooo moody

I don't know if it is the heat or the change in seasons, but I am suddenly sooooo moody. I ate a bit fewer peanuts yesterday. Ugh. That is probably the problem. I'm not even hungry. Stupid body. Well, my stomach is bothering me now, but I took my stomach pill, so that should help. Then, if I'm still moody, I'll eat some peanuts.

Bathroom painting

Today, I was finally able to get back to painting the bathroom. I got a second coat on the part closer to the door, and we were able to get the ladder into a good enough position to finally start work at the top of the wall over the tub. I did end up screwing a longer handle onto the paint brush, because it was so hard to get a couple of spots. I am so excited about getting it finished. I would love to get all the messy paint marks from previous painting by others removed from the woodwork (around the door and on some of the beams), but if I have to choose between getting all the walls painted in the near future and getting the bathroom completely done, I'd much rather get the walls painted. After the bathroom, I'll paint the area behind Joel's couch. Then, I need to do the area behind the bed and where the new armoire will go. There is a big piece of mortar/wall patching material that the contractors put on the wall over a crack near the bed that is coming off in a sheet. So, I'm definitely looking forward to replacing that.

Headache

I was feeling gross and headachey this morning (still have a slight headache), but I'm able to eat now, so that's good. Not too much else going on. I'm not going to try to paint today. It will be a chill day.

We need to talk

The New Yorker is trying to convince me that Bluesky has become annoying and everyone’s back on Xitter. Not linking because it’s paywalled. True or false?

I never got the hang of Twitter. I have similar problems with Bluesky. I don’t need a social site to deliver me more links. I want conversation. Is conversation dead? Where is it? (I know there’s some here…)

I miss Usenet, lol

Clock and painting

There was an old clock the kind with a pendulum by the garbage can, so we snapped it up. It will probably need some work before it functions again, but it seems like it will be nice. There are some suspicious holes in it, so I'll probably need to paint it with anti-woodworm paint on the back. I'll also need to clean it, and maybe refinish it. That would be fine. It _seems_ like at least some of it still works, as it ticked when I took the clock mechanism out to look at it. I'm very excited about it.

In other news, I'm back to work painting the bathroom. Before I could do much, Joel had to remove two wasps from the room, and I ended up taking out a flying ant. Now, though, it is going okay. I have no idea how it will be when I get to the area above the tub, but we'll see. Probably won't be today.
